Build your Base
- Longer, lower intensity exercise to build fitness foundation
- Preferably lower body oriented – running, road biking, spin classes
- 2-3 days/wk
Layer on the Intervals
- Shorter, harder efforts mimic short uphills & going over obstacles
- Push HR up, rest, repeat
- HIIT / Bootcamp Classes, hill repeats
- 2-3 days/wk
Get Strong!
- Full body weight workouts increase your ability to climb, navigate obstacles
- Core focus…don’t forget upper body (rows for climbing)
- 2-3 days/wk
Improve Technical Skills
- Balance/coordination exercises…BOSU’s, stability balls
- Skills Clinics
Don’t Forget your Bike!
- Get a proper bike fit (Antonio at TriTown, Douglas at Boise Endurance)
- And a tune up (Steve Parrish at Dirt Dart Mobile Bike Service)
