  • Softness is part of eating & digestion
  • It should come & go

Causes

  • Food
    • Salt
    • Carbs
    • Fat (takes longer to digest)
    • Dairy (lactose)
    • Fructose (dried fruit, onions)
    • FODMAPS 
      • Short-chain carbs – harder to break down
      • Found in some fruits, veggies, whole grains, dairy 
    • Carbonated Drinks
  • Eating
    • Too much
    • Too fast (air intake, overfull)
  • Dehydration
    • Constipation
  • Body Cycles
    • Monthly cycle, menopause
  • Celiac

To Control

  • Track food intake & response
  • Elimination tests
  • Change how you eat
    • Eat regularly (every 2-3hrs)
    • Eat smaller portions
    • Eat slowly
    • Eat a wider variety of foods on a regular basis
    • Eat less processed foods (simple carbs, salt, fat)
  • Drink LOTS of water
  • Exercise regularly
