I love me a good chocolate chip cookie! And back in my younger days, Mrs. Field’s cookies were the gold standard. Years ago, a good friend of mine gave me what she claimed was Mrs. Field’s famous chocolate chip cookie recipe. I LOVE this recipe…and I have no reason to believe that it isn’t Mrs. Field’s! So here you go…now YOU have this fabulous recipe too!
Ingredients
- 2 c brown sugar
- 2 c sugar
- 1 t salt
- 3 t baking powder
- 2 t baking soda
- 2 c butter
- 4 eggs
- 1 t vanilla
- 3 c oats
- 3-5 c flour
- 24 oz chocolate chips (I use dark chocolate chips)
Preheat oven to 350 deg.
Beat butter & brown & white sugars in stand mixer until creamy & smooth. Add eggs & vanilla & beat until smooth, scraping bowl down as needed.
Add baking powder, baking soda & salt & mix until combined. Add oats & mix.
Add 3-5 c flour depending upon how “cake-y” you like your cookies (more cake-y…more flour, less cake-y…less flour).
Add chocolate chips & mix completely.
Using a tablespoon, scoop out dough & form into balls roughly 1-2″ in diameter. Place on baking sheets a couple of inches apart from each other.
Bake for approx. 10-12 min. Remove from oven & let cookies cool in pan for a couple of minutes. Then remove cookies & place on rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
