‘Tis the season for resolutions & goals! Coach Michelle gives you tips on sticking with them!
New Year’s Resolutions
- Less than 50% make resolutions
- 91% don’t achieve them
Reasons:
- Too many goals
- Goals are too big, too broad
- Rely on emotions to keep us motivated
- Don’t address thought change…which then changes attitudes, habits, behaviors
To Achieve:
- Simplify – key is to ruthlessly eliminate
- Go ahead, make a long list of goals
- Then select your Top 3
- Throw away all the rest!
- Get Small – focus on process rather than outcome
- I want to lose 20lbs vs I want to be a person who walks every day
- Write a book, read more, exercise more, eat healthier, reduce stress
- Consistency
- Behaviors/habits often occur based on environment
- Change your environment to promote success
- Measure your behavior

- Evaluate last week’s progress

- Give yourself grace…then refocus & keep going!
