I ask a lot of my clients…especially my swimmers. I ask them to stop swimming full stroke & just drill, drill, drill for weeks on end. It’s a tough challenge…and not everyone is up to the task. But for those that are…they eventually make the eye-opening connection between those drills & what will ultimately be their NEW full stroke. It’s the moment I wait for…the moment they start making those “aha-mazing” connections. And when it happens…it is SO FREAKIN’ cool!! This is why I’m so proud of Nicolle Sansotta!! She’s been drilling her heart out (even in open water!) & at last lesson, the connection was made! Way to go, Nicolle!!
In Nicolle’s own words:
“I’ve always been an active person. But then life threw me a curveball – a series of injuries ending in an ACL reconstruction. That was the moment I knew I had to find a sport that was kinder to my body – enter swimming!
Learning something brand-new is like venturing into uncharted waters where feeling a bit awkward is just part of the journey. But I embraced the process & things started falling into place.
Now, my schedule…it’s busier than a beehive. But where there’s a will, there’s a way. So, in the midst of summer fun at the lake, I made time to practice all my drills in open water!
But the real magic happened in the calmer waters of the pool. That is where the pieces of the puzzle finally fell into place. Those ‘a-ha’ moments were aha-mazing & I felt like I finally started cracking the code to improvement.
From grappling with challenges to riding the waves of newfound knowledge, my journey is well underway. And guess what? This is just the beginning of a whole new lifelong adventure!”
