Improvement Stalls
- We all have areas in our life where our improvements stall out
- We start looking for answers…maybe ask an expert, read a book
- But we don’t make the changes
Change is Hard
- It requires discomfort (physical and/or emotional)
- It requires breaking habits (quite difficult to do)
- It requires changing your thought patterns
- Def of Insanity: Doing the same thing over & over, but expecting different results.
Example: Swimming
- Learn to breathe to your off side – “bilateral breathing”
- Put your ego aside…
- move down a lane & lead it
- move up a lane & hang in there
- Have some discipline & learn to pace yourself properly
- Have a plan EVERY time you swim…don’t just “get in & swim”
- Work on technique EVERY time you swim
- Do a proper warm-up including mobility work
