I’d Do Anything to Improve…but not that!

This is an outline from Coach Michelle’s Weekly Facebook Live. View the full video here.

Improvement Stalls

  • We all have areas in our life where our improvements stall out
  • We start looking for answers…maybe ask an expert, read a book
  • But we don’t make the changes

Change is Hard

  • It requires discomfort (physical and/or emotional)
  • It requires breaking habits (quite difficult to do)
  • It requires changing your thought patterns
  • Def of Insanity:  Doing the same thing over & over, but expecting different results.

Example:  Swimming

  • Learn to breathe to your off side – “bilateral breathing”
  • Put your ego aside…
    • move down a lane & lead it
    • move up a lane & hang in there
  • Have some discipline & learn to pace yourself properly
  • Have a plan EVERY time you swim…don’t just “get in & swim”
  • Work on technique EVERY time you swim
  • Do a proper warm-up including mobility work
